Getting rid of that little wrench - 1999 SL500

The little wrench with the number 1200 came on in the center of the dash. I got the oil changed and connot get rid of this wrench and number that is now 1100. I followed the instructions in the manual carefully but could only get a miniture oil can and little clock to come up instead of the mew mileage and a beep sound. Is there a trick or is this a ploy to get me to the dealer?? Thanks Rocco

Hi Rocco.

Had the same problems on my 2001 SL500.
I just repeated the prosidure a couple of times untill it worked.
