A great buy is wonderful. My ineptness and ego driven tire style issues has let me Empower the tire dealer. I moved to wide tires with lower profile on the factory 16inch rims. I got kool and some other neat effects. The ride was harder with less side wall flex. the front tire tread width lightly rubber on the suspension flex boot and with full lock to lock steering wheel travel the wide tread would grind on the plastic wheel well panels. The back tire had no such rubbing issues, except the harsh ride and traction control. I obtained 17 inch rims and on the second set of 17" tires went back to the taller sidewall and narrower tread ( 245/45/17). ( just what MB spec'ed the car) All is much nicer, with no abuse to the wheel wells or boots. The extreme Contact DWS are smooth, quite and still well beyond the legal speed limit. I hope your experience does not follow my folly.
