Question Throttle Control

Hi Guys,

I worked out today why my car wasn't changing gears when it should have. The dealer (Not MB Dealer) had fitted a new throttle cable before I bought it. They adjusted it to operate the butterfly properly. Unfortunately as I discovered yesterday afternoon that the SL500 has an electronic throttle control module mounted to the throttle body and the throttle cable is purely a safety cable to allow you to continue driving and get off the highway incase of electronic failure. Anyhoo, the module decided to kick in and work which caused the idle speed to be roughly at 4000rpm!
After some cable adjustments it was now a totaly different car. Changes were early and smooth when ploding along and kicked down nicely when required. Today I parked the car at the dealership to see if I could get the code for the stereo and when I got back in the car the module had dropped out again and I was back to pushing the throttle half way down to the floor to get any response. I figured out if the cruise doesnt work, the throttle control module is not either.
Does anyone know where I should look for loose/dirty/corroded connections? If anyone has perhaps the wiring scematics for the throttle control module and cruise control that wouldn't mind sharing the info it would be much appreciated. For the 3 runs I had in it while the module was working it showed me how good it could be.

Thanks
Mark

Did your model year need the wiring harness work? I know some 95's did, and don't recall from your other forum comments if has been done, but that is where I would start.
