Cold Air Intake

Anyone ever put a CA Intake on their SL? I have a 99 and I found an outfit that has two chrome tubes with two of the cone filters on them. Not sure that would help any and may be just as far ahead to put K&N in the original airbox. Any comments?

yeah look at your factory box and (for lack of a better term hoses) that connect DIRECTLY to the front grill area not only is it like a cold air setup it is also i believe a ram type setup...

i have left my paper filters in and not gone to k&n. i think k&n makes a a good product. but i think the only true advantage is having a reusable filter. if you get one horsepower you wont feel it. if your doing it for performance dont waste your money... if your doing it for a cost effective solution then buy it. (the reusable aspect)

and if you re engineer your setup you wont do as good of a job. probably will lose power. spend the extra money and get a renntech box or something. or get an albrex supercharger, rear mount turbo, or bore and stroke it.

youll waste your money and if you start trying to get more into the engine arnt you forgetting you will lean out your engine and need more fuel? wanna replace your injectors too? and the engine can only suck in so much air N/A anyways. in todays market if your not going F/I your wasting your time and money. it's like a caveman with 2 sticks trying to make fire instead of using a lighter right next to him.

i know you have a m113 not a m119 but the c11 race car made 950hp with 5.0liters and twin turboed... how much will you make N/A 400 maybe 500? and for a lot more money.
