On the 600, mirror issue was from someone adjusting the mirror by direct hand contact. That issue was a problem because they twisted enough to partially recant the breakaway pin/spring that is the primary attachment for the mirror. You might try that aspect for vibration issues with the mirror.
In other vehicle I have worked with and own the mirror nylon cup around the ball just wore out and buying new was my only solution for Jag, Mark 7,9 and 10, 280Sl benz and 65 Bentley.
good luck with your solution!

It is not difficult to fix but you have to be careful as some of the plastic parts becomes brittle with age.
The way to fix this is to remove the mirror. You do that grabbing it with both hands and give it a good tug strait down. It might offer resistance but it will come off.
Then with a guitar plex, or similar, take the mirror apart by gently removing the bezel around the glass. Then there is a nut inside the mirror that needs to be tightened. Then re-assemble and you should be good.
Remember that gentle when opening the mirror case is the operative word here.

I do not recommend grabbing and tugging on the mirror to remove it, that is almost certain to break up the spring loaded plastic mount inside the mirror as they have brittled with age. I know this because I had to epoxy mine back together.
Here is a safer method:
Once you have the mirror popped off disconnect the wiring, the loose nut and washer will be obvious just thread it back up and tighten. There will be no need to open the mirror housing if the problem is just the loose nut...
