Shift Knob

Does anyone know how to remove the Shifter Knob on a 95 SL320...any help would be appreciated..Thanks.

CLK63, CLK550, SL500 Silver Arrow,Corvette LT1,ZR1
On my 2001, you unscrew the home piece at the bottom and then it should lift off.

Working an old post but the "Title" is the best description . . . .

I am trying to pull a burl shift knob at the Pick n Pull - using the instructions in this post.
Have loosened the clamping piece, and dropped it out of the way.
But cannot get the knob to release - including with moderate 'persuasion'.
Any one have any ideas or past success tips to get it to release without damaging the shift knob itself.

(I know not to 'rotate it' as that damages the internals.)
