Climate Control ? No Control... 96 - SL320
Recently I changed my water pump and thermostat and put in fresh antifreeze.
After the repair was completed my climate control does not work... only hot, as hot as it can get.
Today it's 90 out so I put the gauges on the AC and the pressure was low so, I charged the system.
The center vents in the cab blow cold when I push the blue button but the two vents closest to the door blow very hot.
Then after running for 20 min the AC pump shuts off and it's all hot now.
What am I missing here... was the water pump repair in any way related to the climate control malfunction ? I cannot find any hoses or wires that are not connected.
HELP...
Thanks

I had a similar experience with a Ford Mustang many moons ago. Flushed the cooling system and then perpetually hot air... really hot air. In that case, it was the hot water circulation valve being stuck open. Flushing the system caused crud to lodge in the valve assembly, preventing it from closing properly. Thus, hot water would circulate through the interior heater at all times... even with the AC on. Sounds like a similar situation.

Jeff
