Help with yellow tube behinde eyeglass conpartment
Hello Benz Buds, I was doing a little remodeling with a new stereo and a new steering wheel and now the A/C blower does not come on and the Start Error comes on. Possible causes or things I need to know are what does the yellow tube behind the eyeglass box go to?? it is just cut off hanging there.
And there is a 16 inch long 2prong wire on coming out of the ignition key ring, I assume this is for the transponder? Where does it hook up to?

Any plastic tube is Vacuum. Yellow in my experience is door lock, compartment locks all operated by an auxillary vac. It is also a key part of the HVAC and a leak is a big deal to the overall feedback systems in the car ( often when door panels are removed for repair or cleaning or lubrication the panel is not reconnected completely and a host of strange malfunctions cascade from that.) I would guess the yellow tube connects to the valet key locking system up on the dash near the "eyeglass" or analogy phone space.
As for an electrical connection coming from the ignition key area? got me! not a standard Benz thing that I have experienced!

Thanks for your reply, the wire I found, it was to the key transponder. But the yellow tobe still eludes me. I replaced the stereo so I'm thimking I unhooked it from somewhere but for the life of me with everything pulled out and 5 mirrors and flashlights I can not find where it is suppose to go. But I do know that now my a/c blower motor does not come on at all. The yellow tube is coming from drivers side between steering wheel and center console line of sight. there it connects to a black tube that runs forward toward engine and the yellow tube turns right and runs toward the passenger side and is routed behind the eyeglass box and is fastened to the back of What may be the blower compartment with molded clips. it just ends in mid air,,,, Where does it hook to??

yes you have a vacuum tube issue. Not certain where it ends but my guess a black plastic manifold has a nipple without a yellow tube connected.
