Hey Benzers, I have 98 SL 500. Recently it has started downshifting on the highway. Research says the little screens are clogged so I have bought a new gasket and filter to do a pan drop only. My question is will I be able to get to the screens to clean them when I remove the pan?? Also can I replace what fluid comes out with a different fluid that I can buy at the local auto parts store?? If so What kind do I get?? There seems to be a few different types that say they only go with certain cars. I have looked up the fluid specs but I don't understand the lingo and technical garbley goop...
