New Canadian member needs stalling SL600 help
Hello fellow MB owners.
My 1998 SL600 has been stalling repeatedly in the last 6 weeks (12 times to be exact) Here are the usual situations, always occurs when car is braking, slowing down or comes to a stop. There is no advanced warning at all, it does not sputter or hesitate, the engine just cuts out completely. The car will not restart until you get out of the car, remove the gas cap and then replace it. It then restarts and runs fine until the next stall, which occurs soon.
If this helps a right upstream 02 sensor was replaced less than a week previously to this problem starting.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Bill

Not sure of problem, but does the gas cap seal so the removal have a "woosh" sound? The fuel tank is a "closed" system and sensors monitor the closed system.
