1991 r129 alarm issue
Hi Folks
I have a 1991 r129 with a failed driver's door sensor (red/green infrared). I am told by the dealer that the entire mechanism needs replacement for $1500.
I am very capable of replacing the sensor but cannot find one to purchase.
With the unit in the failed mode I have to disconnect the plug on the alarm module, which disables the antenna. Further, the center console is locked as is the driver door storage.
Can I at a minimum disable the alarm only so I can access the locked compartments? Does anyone have access to the sensor so I can replace this?
Any help is appreciated.
