1998 SL 500 Wheel Rub?
I have a 1998 SL 500 that came with the stock 16x7.5 wheels with a 23 MM offset on 225/55-16 tires.
Replaced them with 18x8 wheels with a 29 MM offset riding on 245/40-18 Continental DWS 06 tires. This is the setup front and back (didn't want the staggered look). Everything looks great and rides well.
However, I can feel what seems like a slight rubbing at very low speeds on straight-away driving. This doesn't feel like the tires rubbing the wheel wells (there's plenty of clearance) but possibly coming from inside the wheel?
Perhaps the offset needs to be adjusted with spacers? New at this so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance -

Pull a wheel
Pull a wheel, look on the back side and find the sizes and P/N cast into the wheel.
If these are the wheels I think they are, they are optional AMG wheels for a 129 anyway, and the et should be 31, (I can't remember an ET of 29 on any Mercedes wheel), you may have misread it. But get the part number as well, that will confirm what you have. If these are SL optional wheels, whatever is going on it isn't the wheels, and your tire size is perfect.
Sound coming from front or rear?
