I am restoring a 1993 R129 SL500 where the paint code should be it simply says " PASSENGER VEHICLE" where else can I look for the code?

If you have the original owners manual then it's on the back page along with other vehicle specific info.

Also, this might help. Dr. ColorChip lists all the paint codes along with a sample of the color. If your sure of the color just by looking at the sample, then you'll have the code. Here's the link for your year. http://www.drcolorchip.com/store/sta...repair-kit.php

Simply take your VIN to the local MB dealer and ask them to run a Master Inquiry. You'll get the paint code(s), interior codes, and other stuff.
