Cold Starting Problem

Hoping that someone here can shed some light on this issue.
Jumped in the car and started up fine.
My destination was only about a mile away and parked for about two hours.
Jump back in and tried to start. Cranked but no start. Tried to start three more times and nothing.
Finally on the fourth try car fired up as it normally does.
Drove for about eight miles. Stopped and started fine.
I know CPS problems are usually hot start problems.
Also, my CPS was changed only about a year ago.
This is the first time this has happened.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Weird problem. In an old carburetor engine, it sounds like vapor lock. But that's not applicable in an FI system. I've never experienced a CPS failure but I don't think it would be an intermittent sort of thing. Frankly, I can't think of anything unless there is another symptom or data point. Transmission neutral safety switch? That's a shot in the dark.
Cheers,
Jeff
