BEWARE 94 to 96 Wiring Harnesses
Beware if you own a 94 to 96 SL320, Mercedes put biodegradable wiring harnesses in them and other models too. My MAF Sensor Wiring harness to the ECM just burned up. The main Engine Harness will probably be next at some point in the future. I can't believe Mercedes knew about this just a few years after and didn't have a RECALL on all of them They are are NOTHING but a FIRE HAZARD. I sent my ECM off for repair, if it can be repaired. GOOD

Yes, many of us have written about the problem. Many more should be warned before they buy that cheap toy, as the dream machine can be nightmarish!!!

Several of us have tried with NTSB and directly to Benz. The answer often reduced to age of the vehicle when reported and such a small vehicle number.
An attorney did a "fire" search and death and property damage search. No big file!
