Question Spark Plug Question

Pulled a plug on my '02 R129 M113. They look like they have never been changed. Ugh!

What is the best plug to install in these guys? My BMW's use NGK's vs. Bosch, way better, but I don't know what to use here.

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Non-Resistor

You can't go wrong with Bosch non-resistor plugs!

F8DC4 is the number. It's OEM non-resistor. Cost about $2-$3.

Per the owner's manual (click here) the 2002 M113 engine use Bosch F8DPER plugs.

This is a platinum electrode resistor plug which is no longer in production and has been replaced by the Bosch FR8DPP33+ (stock # 7422), a double platinum plug. The MB part number is A 003 159 94 03.

You can get them from Autohaus AZ for $5.18 each.

The F8DC4 is a conventional non-resistor chrome-nickel alloy plug used in the earlier M119 engine...

cliffy;

Thanks, I knew what the book said, but also found out there weren't any around. Figured I'd ask and maybe someone would either know the superseded part number, or knew a better plug to use.

Thanks again,
Mike

Stick with the OEM plug. Order it online. Better to wait a few days and get it right. Remember you will need 16 of them.

It's funny, my BMW 850 has 12 cylinders and uses 12 plugs.
My Mercedes Benz SL500 has 8 cylinders and uses 16 plugs.
Yeah buddy, it's a party
In my house we need a total of 54 spark plugs (Groan). Oops, forgot the weed eater, snow blower and lawn mower, so 57.

Thank you gentlemen
