Window noise - adjustment on 1998 SL500?
Just picked up a 98 SL, awesome car, very clean, runs strong!
I've searched the forum and googled quite a bit, can't find many with wind noise issues when the hardtop is on.
Any suggestions of what to look for and/or adjustments? Both windows seem to be equally noisy, not unbearable but more than they should be for this quality of a car. Maybe the removable hardtop is just normal to have a good bit of wind noise?
Also, wondering experience with car washes when hardtop on, do they seal well enough to not get leakage?
Thanks!!

there are adjustments in each door. a screw in the underside of the frame and window angle adjustments within the door cavity.
How is the fit with the soft top? Need to consider both tops for the window angle issue.
The hard top for me leaks less but both tops have leaks at the A pillar junction with the top. a rubber channel contacts and the exact fit is less tight with the soft top. so I use paper napkins in the area when the side water pressure is blasting! It has not been a problem when driving in rain. ( I rarely experience rain and certainly don't drive looking for it. Actually the top is almost always down. )

window adjust
Thanks for the info...
I see just two small rectangular openings on the bottom sill of the door, and I cannot see any adjustments from there, so I assume the door panel must come off?
In my case the hardtop and soft top seem to have nearly equal air noise. It is also relatively equal side to side so I am guessing it is just years of light wear and the window needs a slight adjustment.
Can anyone tell me where the adjustment is, does the door panel have to be removed?
