SL600 Wheels
I have a 2001 SL600 with AMG 18" wheels but want to go to 19". Since its an older car does anyone know if the 19"s will fit? Does it require spacers? ANY HELP would be appreciated as I am new at these blogs. Thank you in advance.

IMHO since I have run with the wheel/tire ego thing please accept these comments. Yes larger rims, as 18 to 19 or 20 can take place. The size of the wheel wells can handle the size. Depending on the brake set up you might get a mis match.
The rubber part of the wheel will need to adjust ( side wall profile ) With the profile change one can select a tread too wide to fit with the front wheel well. ( I got a great look, but the wide tread rubbed on the wheel liner and suspension baffle. ) the solution was same profile with a narrower tread. ( I used the Tire Rack charts of wheel demension )
Since your vehicle is set up with the staggered wheel plan you get to purchase tires that will only work in one position! But welcome to the world of expensive burn-out's!
The last opinion I will pass on has to do with the vehicle ride. My experience with low profile tires has been jarring. The ride gets rough! I have sets of tire mistakes for various cars and have changed the wheel set up for different drives. Most of the vanity vehicles only travel a few thousand miles each year.
The spacer issue has only an issue if you don't buy the new rims with a different offset. I avoid extra things like spacers. I would just buy the correct offset.
