PLASTIC BOTTLE AT BOTTOM OF FENDER 95 SL320?
Have a 1995 SL320 as you look into the louvered slots on the passenger side fender I can see a white plastic bottle. Is this part of the headlight washer unit that hold fluid or what??? Last time I had it on a lift I did not check it out. thanks Dave in Tampa

I just learned over at the other R129 forum that those plastic spheres visible through the fender "gills" are in fact vacuum pressure reservoirs. They are odd looking, as though they were installed there as part of some failed experiment by the previous owner.

The high pressure plastic bottles are in several areas of the fenders. A I owned 500 had less bottles than the current 600. I don't remember if each bottle/tank was the same shape for each location but if the vac system is having a problem it may involve the tanks as well as connectors, hoses and manifolds! Lots of parts that get old!
