Recently I got this code P0730. It had something to do with the transmission like a solenoid or something and oil not good or needs to be filled up or the gear ratio is off... So what is it? I checked the transmission fluid and it was dried out. So I added 2 quarts while the engine was running hot and checked it again and it was good. I took it for a test drive and it drove much better but now it won't leave first gear. I tried to put it on 3 2 1 and nothing changed. So I took it to my garage to get it on a lift. ( drove around 40 mph on first gear) and now i need some answers please. Thanks it's a 1997 sl500 sport if that would help

You are screwed----replace the conductor plate and faulty solenoid, but then you also have to clear the fault from the TCU--that takes factory or equal diagnostic software Total job 800---1000 bucks if you have the diagnostic software!!

It's alright I'm a mechanic so I get discounts on parts. And I also have the star diagnose system (exentry). But are you 100% positive this is the problem?

If you have Xentry---then get off your A an plug in and do a quick test---wada you get!!

I took out the transmission computer module and gave it to someone I know. Since I don't deal with transmissions. 😒
