R129 electrical wiring problems ?

I've read about the older years using the crappy insulation, so what years will have that problem? And what about the newer ones?
So what did they use corn starch in the mixture like the plastic bags all have? And I've read there was no recall? I wonder how many law suits over burned down homes and garages from that?

93-95 models of MB and about the same years for Volvo,( that I personally experienced ) had a wiring insulation that has not held up to time, heat and flexing. While nothing is forever I expected better from Benz. When I experienced the problem the vehicle had only 37K but 50 months of life my claim for relief was rejected on the time basis and attorneys for a class action concept suit were not hopeful in the international venue. As for Takata I have not seen Benz listed and not sure 90-02 are the time ranges for the energy system of the air bag deployment.

In electrical feeds, which is first in line from the battery, the fuse or the switch?

I'm not a car expert, just an experienced owner, IMO the fuse box seems to have primary current to many of the operational units. some EC modules also have fuse protection. With some exceptions, with the starter motor, I think the fuse is first, before the primary switch.
When the contact quality of the ceramic bullet fuse and its holder are cleaned, or the Al fuse metal replaced with Cu the systems work better and cause less "codes"
Hope this answers your question!
