I need a sl500 now!!!
It's been a long wait and I'm finally ready to buy one. I'm looking one with low miles and preferably black exterior. If anyone knows someone who is selling one between years 1997 and 1998 that would be great. You guys could also post links to where you may think I would not have geat troubles with and that it would be something youd owned. What I have heard so far was that the hydraulic tops go bad a lot and I know that's going to cost me a lot but hey, it's a really nice car. Thanks. And one more thing, do people ever sell them on eBay? Because I typed it in and all I got was just parts.

beware and welcome to the trap!
The seals in the hydraulic top system don't last forever. I have replaced in both R 129's and helped another take out the hydraulics of a R 170, so not model related, just time!
IMHO the years you mentioned are good in most all respects, but power plant for me is M120, not much worse in mileage but nice power, and lots of comments!
