2000 SL500 Wont Pass Smog: ECU/comp connection problem
Hi all,
Trying to diagnose this for a family friend. They tried to smog the car and it failed based on a communications error between the BAR (CA state smog) computer and ECU. The shop scribbled down something about not being able to read the vin from the car computer it seems. Any ideas on a fix?? I am stumped..

I think you need to get your hands on SD scanner to test what is going on.
