Leather Trim Behind Seat

Behind the drivers seat just below the access button to the CD Compartment there is a leather trim piece about 12" wide and 5" tall, does anyone know how to safely remove it. I am trying to locate a rattle and I think it is coming from that piece.

Yes, it is held on by two clips on the top and then with two plastic pieces that hold it in on the bottom.

First open the CD compartment door. Then just gently pry with your hands the top portion forward on a 45 degree angle and it will release immediately.

Pull it from the top, not the bottom.

Interesting to note too that when you do remove that piece on your passenger side, you can see the chassis number stamped in big digits onto the body work.

Also, feel the thickness of that steel cross member. This is one of the high strength steel components running across the car to stop the body flexing - much thicker than normal.
