Cargo nets
Did anyone purchase the extra cargo nets in the trunk? My car came with one on the right side and one facing the cabin. I got two more which one is suppose to be on the left side and one is close to the bumper side.
The left side seems to be missing an anchor hole.

I have them but they are a hassle. They restrict access to the space under the trunk floor which is useful if you don't have a spare wheel. I have only three - one across the floor of the trunk, one which stands vertically across the rear of the trunk and one smaller one on the right hand side of the trunk.

The other ones are as discussed.

My car came with the vertical net next to the cabin. I got another vertical one to fit next to the bumper. The net came with the plastic hooks and screws. It is harder to remove the floor with the vertical net next to the bumper. That is probably why Mercedes started to place the vertical net next to the cabin.
I just wanted the vertical net to protect the plastic molding next to the trunk. But I also discovered that you couldn’t put the side net on the left side, because one of the holes is too big for the screw. The picture for side net accessories at MBUSA for the SL is misleading. It shows the net on the left side.

Mine's an early car and it's at the back, next to the bumper. Not sure how useful it would be right inside the trunk if you need to remove what else is in there to get at it. Doubtless they agonised long and hard and had a big meeting the decide...

You get 4 clips and 4 screws when you purchase the vertical net. Unfortunately there is a plastic plug on the left side close to the cabin that is too big for the screw. So I cannot get a side net for the left side.
I also cannot use the floor net because of the plastic tray.

My net is different than yours Tigger. I don't have the one thats verticle closest to the trunk latch. Instead, mine is stretched flat against the floor of the trunk. The net is very useful for firmly (unlike the others) holding items in place. I just grab a handfull, pull the net up, stick something under there, let it go and snap. Item held firmly in place.

I have the floor net to. I do not use it because of the plastic tray. I purchased the vertical net that is close to the trunk latch yesterday.

I have the tray and all 3 nets. I like it to keep the trunk clean, and also should my sl develop the dreaded leak problem, it will save me from mold, mildew and rust.

Don't give Tigger a hard time, he has had the worst luck with water and rubber!
Tigger: You can leave the floor net attached and still get the liner in. I do that for daily use, and then pull the tray out and the all weather mats when I want it to look good.

the only downside to leaving the floor mat in place all the time is that it will create the diamond pattern in the carpeting in the trunk/boot.

Cargo net hooks
I bought a pre-owned 2009 SL550 Sport. Love the car! I have been looking to fill out what appear to be some missing elements. It was missing a tool kit, air compressor for the spare tire, and a few other small items. Last is the cargo nets...I have three, but seem to be missing the hooks for them. In particular, I seem to not have the hooks that are part of the cargo cover hinges. Any ideas what I can do about that?
