Diplomacy is a virtue rudeness is crass
It is certainly better (IMO) to be subltle with criticism and diplomatic with suggestions. A lot of people at the board here are unapprectiative or even simply rude when they don't like something. I think it speaks volumes about themselves. It often turns out they are young. If they are not young, well what can I say?
Thanks for the effort R230. I have been interested in the illuminated sills. Benzmods ideas for running the wires will make the next installs even better. I think a lot of us don't tackle these jobs because it is so easy to damage the trim and other interior pieces learning how to take them off.
Main Entry:
Crass
1 a: GROSS 6a; especially : having or indicating such grossness of mind as precludes delicacy and discrimination b: being beneath one's dignity <crass concerns of daily life> c—used as a pejorative intensifier <crass flattery><crass propaganda>2: guided by or indicative of base or materialistic values <crass commercialism
synonym - see stupid

Wow.. A thread I made 2,5 year ago.. What a bump
I have sold that car but now i got a SL600 is in the garage.
I also have a pair of doorsills that I will install this spring.
Maybe, just maybe, I will run the wires under that cabling tunnel

illuminated sills
I appreciated your photo instructions. If anything, I learned how to remove my sills. I, for one, always appreciate one sharing their expierences with the group. If just one thing is learned from it, it was indeed successful! Thanks for sharing your pictoral.

Thank you for sharing! I will definetely use these pictures when taking my car apart to install audio. One thing though, all this "glowing" staff tends to die pretty quickly.

Thought it was a nice description and fun to see how it looks behind some of the panels. I would not really dare to remove these panels on my car as they seem to be stuck hard, but if I have to then I know how to do this. Please post more modifications when available!
Nice car to!!

Excellent! As per the Aussie, since the outback (Boxing kangaroos, crocs, Dun-dee's machete) is rough enough match to begin with, his comments were probably transparent and, therefore as constructive as the original post...five years ago. When the time comes, I will remember both.

Excellent write up! I just purcahsed a set for my Mars Red '05 SL500 and will use your guidelines for installation. I think the color "red" to go with my Red SL will really set my car off!!! Thanks again!!!

Great Article
This was a very nice article to read on how to add the lighted sill panels. Why is that benzmodz so rude and negative? Didn't your parents teach you that if you cannot say something nice then don't say anything at all?

Well, I'm to the part where the power wires are hooked up (black wire to grey wire, red wire to small red wire with blue strip on red power supply), and no power. Wires are snug, but still no power. I see there are two small red wires and one huge solid red wire. I will tap the other small red wire and see what happens...

www.formymercedes.com. I changed all courtesy lights to led which brightens the interior. Thanks for the compliment!
