Thumbs down 2005 SL600: check engine light

Fellas,

I'm hoping some of you can help me out. It is a nice Spring night here in Jersey and I was planning on taking the 600 out.

Low and behold, the check engine light appeared on the dash at about 18:30. Of course, just as all the Service Centers are closed. The car is not revving/shifting normal anymore & the tach seems to be fluttering between different RPM ranges.

I drove her home (~5 miles) at low engine speeds and parked her in the garage until Monday morning.

I only have 2,500 miles on my car and it has only had a transmission leak at 1,300 miles. I can't believe it...100K on a car and I can't even enjoy it on a nice Spring weekend.

Well if anyone has any experience with R230 engine problems please reply with your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

BTB

Ignore it. Try driving it a few hours later.

Mine was normal again.

Only other thing is to pull the battery and let it sit for ~1 hr (half hour at least). Then reconnect it, and start her up. If it doesnt go away, then it not a computer glitch (that is what I was assuming it was) and needs service.

Just talked to my SA and he stated that their was an error code because cylinder 3 was misfiring . He wants to keep it overnight and test it cold in the morning. I hope this is just an isolated incident

I know this is a late thread revival- but which battery should be disconnected?
