Burning smell coming from under the hood of 2008 SL550

Hey guys,
I just had Service A and after I brought the car home, I smell something burning coming from under the hood. I thought it may have been spilled oil but I don't see any at all. Anyone experience this?

Thanks,
slowroll

The problem is that when I sniff the area, the actual engine smells fine. It seems to be coming from the just behind the driver side headlights.

They probably spilled some engine oil somewhere.

Next time you bring the car in for service, ask the service advisor to check for possible ABC fluid leak around the driver side strut or valveblock fittings- thats probably the cause of the smell.

Why didn't you drive right back to the dealer and have it handled then and there? Makes no sense to me to wait.

Update: The dealer checked it out and said it was a loose plastic cap that was leaking oil. Not sure if BS or not...
