My new 07 SL600 and many thanks to members on here
Hello everyone. I would like to share a pic of my new wheels (07 sl600) that I picked up in mid-October and am having a blast with. I have not had a hobby since I sold my motorcycle…this car has become my new hobby. I’ve wanted a V12TT benz since I first read about it in 2003. So far I have upgraded the ECU (contesting results) and performed the muffler delete (love it!!). My eventual goal is to obtain 11.5’s in the qtr (even though I have yet to visit a race track). I was scheduled to run Dec 2nd at Englishtown, NJ but experienced a minor ABC issue that needed fixing. I don’t know if there any other race tracks in the northeast that stay open later in the season. Anyways, I’ve been lurking on board enough without saying hey… so I thought I would say hey. …So here goes….Hey.
During my read-thru of this board I’ve been especially interested in the evolution of Benz-o-rama’s car. I agree with his philosophy of keeping the integrity and creature comforts of the car intact while having the capability of shredding corvettes on the boulevard. Problem for me is that I live in Manhattan…so other than quick burst between stoplights on short blocks it’s hard to get a drag race going around here…unless you can hit the FDR highway (up/down the east side of Manhattan) at just the right time when I can blast the straightaways followed by plenty of twists ‘n turns pocked with manholes/potholes and traffic giving that racecar/video game like experience. Crazy fun sh..!
So, I want to thank all the contributors on this board… particularly Benzo, TMC-M5, thericker and Soulsearcher for my education on this fine car. I have learned a lot by reading what these guys had to say. Except now I think I should have given a little more thought to my choice of a profile name. I came up with it just after returning from one of my adrenaline fueled blasts down the FDR.
So my question….are all the tracks in the northeast closed to us for the season?
Regards

I kept the stock tips...had the muffler guy weld them back onto the straight pipe inserts. I plan on updating these with dual tips later. The car was in the shop for an ABC sensor issue so I took the opportunity with the muffler shop nearby. Just didn't have posession of duals at that time. Baby-steps.
