All you guys able to buy and SL55 for just a little more dollars than an SL500 are very lucky. In the UK a 2004 SL500 is approx. £10k but an equivalent age and condition SL55 is over £20k.

My decision was between an SL550, SL600 or SL63. I wanted the MY2009 "facelift", so my choices were every limited (no MY2010, so 2009/20111/2012 was my search criteria). MY2009 was the last year for the R230 SL600, and those are very, very rare, as in today, none are for sale anywhere in the USA. The MY2009 SL63 was out of the running due to head bolt and lifter issues. I was really lucky to have found the MY2011 SL550 I did. The price and condition were just what I w as looking for. I found a few SL63's, but the price was 25-20% higher than the SL550. Honestly, I would love to have an SL63, but the SL550 is just fine. I am very happy with it, even coming form the CLK550 with the same engine/transmission.
