Last year, I was involved in an R129 meet up. We met at a state park in NJ, looked at our cars and attributes, then took a drive and had a great lunch on the patio at a nearby restaurant with a water view.

We are thinking about putting another one together for this June 22,23,28,or 29th. Venue still open to suggestion. Any model SL, earlier, later, are all welcome from DE, NJ, PA and beyond. We have someone driving in from Long Island NY.

We will need a venue that offers a large parking area, with a good restaurant nearby, convenient to all who attend.

Does this sound like something you would like to do?

Let me know If you have interest, suggest a location, and preferred date.

Hey Guys ~

We have a tentative date for the weekend of September 13th or 14th. The location is Longwood Gardens in Chadds Ford PA. They have a restaurant there as well, or we can do a cruise down historic Rte. 1 and dine somewhere else, all up to us. Time will probably be 9-10 AM meet up, then lunch at Noon- 1 PM.

Please refresh who is in or who cannot come, and which day is preferred.

Great! So we are set for the 13th at 10ish. Please feel free to invite and include your spouses and partners, or siblings.

Admission to Longwood is approx. $18. per person. It should be a grand time for all! Parking lots are large, and I will be making a visit beforehand to let them know we will be converging there that day, to be sure we are expected. I will report back after my visit with any updates.

Important Update!


I will be posting this message on the R230 Benzworld Forum as well as the MBworld R129 & R230 Forums:

It seems like a better idea to change the venue to The Gables, located a few miles from Longwood Gardens and in the middle of historic Chadds Ford. Feel free to look att he web site and view the menu, pictures, etc.

They have a large parking lot as they do a lot of weddings and other events. I spoke with the management there and we are welcome to park and hang out for as long as we want to, then come in for a nice lunch and chat. They have an outdoor terrace which is covered in case of a downpour, and a private area can be set up just for us enthusiasts.

If anyone wants to go to Longwood Gardens afterwards, it is about 2 miles South on Rte 1 (Baltimore Pike). The Brandywine River Museum, as Gary Knox mentioned, along with a number of fine art galleries and shops are abundant and close to the Gables.

Please check the website for directions. The Gables is located on the South side of Rte. 1.

We will be meeting at 10 AM until ?

Bring your spouses and friends, and please post how many people will be coming so we can have tables set up for us for lunch.
