esp/abs malfunction and p0600 with stuck in 2nd gear

I hope someone can help.

I have 2005 r230. The other day the ESP and ABS malfunction appeared on my instrument and ABS lights stays on. The "check engine" light is also on with p0600 code.

Here is the symptom:

1. Steering wheel is very stiffened as if no power steering.
2. The car wouldn't switch gear from 2nd gear.
3. Which forces me to only go aroun 20-25 mph.
4. Braking is also very latent, taking a while to make a complete stop.

I took it to two indies and one of them told me that the part for this car (some module) cannot be bought and should be taken it dealer and dealer only.

The other shop told me that they can get the module and reprogram it for $2200 and takes 3 days.

I am not sure what to believe and who do believe.

I've searched for simliar problems throughout the forum and decided to change the voltage regulator (DIY) with no success.

Can someone tell me what i should do?

Thank you very much in advance.

What module did they state needed replacing? Did you get it fixed?

I have this exact problem that reared it's ugly head overnight.
Same generic p0600 code too.
Both batteries tested fine.
I now also have the clicking in the dash with flashing lights when the key is turned to the first position. (New ignition switch is on the way)

Someone, please respond if you have any answers.

It sounds a lot like a battery problem. ignition Module would be my other guess.

The starter battery is getting fed by the AGM aux battery in the trunk so you may be getting a false reading when testing. You would need to remove them to test them properly.

My suggestion would be to replace the starter battery which is the one in the front, this battery is cheap and easy to change.

Just another wild *** guess: rule out the Electronic Ignition Module. Any glitch in the EIM produces a variety of strange results. I know. Probably gonna need a dealership's shop to sort out this one. Good luck, and let us know how this gets resolved.

I just had this same issue! The temp was 12 degrees with a wind chill of 1 degree. I kept hearing a motor coming on and off on the passenger side of the car. Sweating bullets because I was out of town, and home was three hours away!!
So I would pump the brakes, motor comes on for 5 seconds and then cut off. Finally the motor sound came on for the last time, shut off, and the red lights on my dash disappeared!!! And I had to drive 3 hours to get home, and no issues whatsoever!! I am almost
positive that the cold had something to do with it. but I will check and see if any stored codes are available.

Maybe the serpentine belt is dragging. A bad tensionber or idler pulley can cause this.

The transmission is in limp mode. You need to get codes pulled form the TCU, which a generic OBDII scanner won't do - you need to get it scanned with SDS or with a tool that reads MBX's proprietary systems.

4. Braking is also very latent, taking a while to make a complete stop.
That sounds like SBC is malfunctioning. If the serpentine belt is dragging, ti could be that the alternator is not putting out, which can cause SBC issues.
