SL/R230: ABC Accumulators Bounce Test?

ABC Accumulators Bounce Test?
No offense intended to anyone on my question. 2004 SL500 with 76k miles. All seems mostly in order. ABC is a constant source of curiosity/light concern. No leaks anywhere. I've done the ABC fluid flush with new filter. No ABC messages. Car seems to drive/ride fine although I guess I do not have a real baseline for comparison. The car will settle a little unevenly at times after engine is turned off. I'm expecting that up to even 1/2 inch difference between sides is nothing to be concerned about as long as it levels up when the engine is running. Also, if sitting without moving for several minutes, with engine running, it seems I can feel the suspension move a little.
I have read about the bounce test as a way to check the condition of your accumulators. Following the test, with engine off I push on my front end and it is basically solid, no movement. Supposed to be a sign that the accumulator is good. The rear I would say responds differently. I can move it down and it comes back up. Definitely moves where the front does not.
Is this a generally "rule of thumb" way to test the accumulators?
Appreciate comments.
