Control Arm Replacement- Alignment Question
My Global Warranty for my 2005 500SL covered the replacement of the malfunctioning control arm bushings and upper/lower control arms. However, they won't cover the necessary alignment.
The policy states that "In the event of a mechanical breakdown to a covered part, WE agree to pay the reasonable cost to repair or replace that part. They further state that “Cost” means the usual and reasonable charge for a covered part and then necessary labor to repair or replace it as described in a recognized Industry Standard Labor.
MB insists that the alignment be performed (and I agree). I therefor paid for the alignment out-of-pocket.
My question is… is there a MB Industry Standard Labor position on the necessity of realignment after control arms are replaced?
I would like to present such guidelines to Global as a precedent set by MB in hopes of getting reimbursed for the $230 procedure.
