My 2006 has the 'creaks' when the top's up but not when down. Makes me think the locking mechanisms for the top need 'adjusting'. Is this something others out there have experience with..?

The front edge of the roof should be 4mm from the top of the window molding and even on both sides.
There is a 10mm bolt under the trim above the visor that allows this to be adjusted.
Takes a little fiddling...
This solved similar issue for me, and also stopped water dripping!

Sometimes the creaking noise is the rubber. Clean both surfaces and put on some kind of rubber dressing and the noise will go away.

You might check the clips that hold the headliner on, the rear ones are known to come unglued from the headliner.

Can you stop the top in the middle of its ingress/egress in order to service it? I want to apply rubber dressing to all appropriate parts because mine squeaks sometimes...
