Transmission - ’07 SL350 - anyone had this problem before?
Gentlemen,
I have had two recent episodes when my transmission seemed to either slip or skip a couple of gears after being driven repeatedly during the day. If I drive to work in the morning an back in the evening, then everything is fine.
I am planning to have the so clued "Lifetime" transmission oil flushed and filter changed but wanted to know if there were any known temperature related or position sensor related issues common in the R230 that might explain this behaviour that I can correct during a flush. I don't want to spend $ hundreds flushing the transmission and then having to dump it all again because something else was the problem.
The car is 2007 Australian spec SL350 with 40,000 klms on the clock with full service history. I have read of cars bring stuck in park or suddenly dying, but nothing that seemed to relate to this apparent heat related behaviour.
Any advice hugely appreciated.
