2003 ABC Pump Question - Leak Identification
Hi All,
Relatively new to this forum. As the thread title states my wife's 2003 SL500 ABC is experiencing issues. I have a massive puddle under the car, well I did it is cleaned up now.
Anyway I am guessing the majority of the fluid has leaked out and car is sagging. In trying to identify the leak I have found the "ABC Hose Connector Canister" is covered in fluid. But the pump itself doesn't look that bad, in other words the leak is up high I think.
I am going to fix the problem myself but would appreciate any insight into if this is possibly a hose or line issue versus a pump replacement? My hope is someone on here has encountered this and can point me in the right direction. I am seriously considering just pulling the pump and replacing it, but if someone has experience which would indicate it is a different problem I would appreciate that insight before I spend the money on a pump.
Thank you in advance for any and all insight as it is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Phil

Ok,
Boneheaded mistake, I was under car looking up so I thought the leak was coming from above the pump.
Now after reorienting myself I realize the leak must be coming from the pump and flowing downward.
Doh, guess it is time to bite the bullet and buy a pump.
Doh doh doh...

Hi,
I had already bought a pump when I received the offer for the one.
The leak doesn't necessarily result in a pump replacement, except my lead was significant and was coming out of the pump.
I successfully replaced the pump over the weekend but now cannot seem to figure out how to clear the "ABC" warning code on the dash board. I hope this isn't a SDS requirement to clear.
FYI, post pump replacement everything seems to be working as you would expect, hopefully this is the last ABC work that is required for awhile.
