I've just bought a 2003 SL500 Alabaster White. I want some used parts -- because I now can't afford a door Dealer's door handle part 230-760-17-70-9960 or the one on the other side (18 instead of 17) for $462! -- each side. See, I just bought a Mercedes....


But, I can't figure out where to go on the internet to find something like a used or junk car door handle for my car.


Thanks for any pointers in finding OEM parts (used) cheaper than Dealer prices.

Ebay is your friend. I've been able to find most anything on there. Most people who part out sell on ebay.

Thanks. Looked there, but didn't find anything I'm looking for. A few items, but not for my SL500. I'm looking under Mercedes SL parts. Only about 20 items besides nav discs by the thousands.
Am I looking in the wrong place?

Fit to 2003 SL 500:


1. Door Handles both sides: Dealer Part #s: 230-760-17-70-9960 and 230-760-18-70-9960. Prefer in Alabaster White (or I'd have to have them painted.)


2. Sun Visor (Driver Side): don't have part number. Tan color. The plastic around the mirror on mine is broken a bit.


3. Underneath plastics on Driver Side only: Undertray Covering, Inner Fenderwell Covering, and Rear Fenderwell Covering.


4. Center Armrest Housing: again for tan upholstery SL 500


5. Strut Assembly SK-2412 and SK-2413 both sides.


6. Shock Absorber with Core SK 2414 and SK-2415 both sides with Active Body Control.


For the moment, that's all I'm looking for. Good functioning used parts that don't cost a fortune!

I've just looked on ebay. Everything you need is on there. Try searching R230 and the keywords. Example, "R230 Strut Assembly SK-2412". It's all there. If you know the part number, once you find it through the generic search terms, ask the vendor to confirm the part number. Good luck.

Found most of what I'm looking for. Still looking for driverside door handle with keyless go. Bought a red one for the other side - I'll paint the red white. But will keep looking for one to come up for the opposite side and for a couple pieces of interior with the right colors.


Still can't figure how I missed finding all these sl 500 parts when I went looking before. I didn't put R230 in the search, but did put Mercedes 2003 SL 500 and got almost nothing in response - except for CDs for NAVI.
