I don't have an answer, but do have the same problem as your first problem. I hope you (we) get an answer. I have thought about trickle charging the aux battery periodically but have yet to purchase a trickle charger -- no sure what specs should be on the trickle charger.

When I purchased my 2004 SL500, there was neither a v60 cell phone nor a Bluetooth dongle (puck). I purchased one through ebay and dealer had to fix a faulty connection. Now it works, but reception is only one short bar. So communication is very poor, almost unusable. Any ideas on how to increase reception?
Also, FM reception is not that good. Any tips on how to improve it?

Your first set of problems with this vehicle are - as you've discovered - very familiar and really unacceptable.
Truth is that this car needs to be run frequently. If you don't drive it regularly and decide to turn the engine over occasionally, don't switch it on and then off. Keep is running for about 5 minutes at least.

It could be your starter battery as when it is going bad the aux battery will go into a power protection mode to make sure you will have sufficient power to support the starting of the car.
Put a amp meter on the starter battery and monitor it over a couple of days.
