I came on to see if anyone else had posted this question and here it is. Mine just started doing the same thing, usually after you first start driving it will cut on and off 3 to 4 times. Did you ever find a solution? I have an appt in the am with the local MB dealer since mine is still under warranty. Just curious if you have had yours checked.

I will update you after my appt tomorrow. I was reading some other similar posts regarding the 'Command System' and most had to be replaced at a cost of $7-8K

Well, the final verdict is not in yet. They want to first try updating the software, and if that doesn't correct the problem then the 'command center' will get replaced. After waiting 2 hours this am, I was told the plan and that it would take about 2 hours to do the update. I was given a loaner car and was almost home when I got a call that one of the discs needed to do the software wasn't in! It wouldn't be in until Monday, so I went back to pick up my car and will go back again next week. More updates to follow!

How does yours act? With mine, probably about a minute or less after starting off the entire system shuts down. Then in 5-10 seconds it will boot back up. Sometimes it only does it once, other times it will shut down 3-4 times but always comes back up. Another problem that I have been experiencing is the bluetooth. The car recognizes my phone and pairs but when I attempt to talk on it I can't because it doesn't play through the car.

Thought I would also tell you about a neat thing I bought off Amazon for the car. I was frustrated because I would have to attach my phone to the adapter in the console for iTunes to play. It would't simultaneously charge it and it was just inconvenient. There is a gizmo on Amazon called 'Tune2Air'. It's a small bluetooth device that attaches to the adapter in the console and you then have bluetooth music as if it were built into the car. All music displays on the GPS screen and you can switch between songs on the steering wheel or radio. It was $79 on Amazon.

Tune2Air sounds like a great and cheap add on for our MB cars. Thanks thsn for the great tip!

ths1208: About the Tune2Air ...

1. How does that attach in my '07 SL550? There's a little gizmo inside the center armrest top storage panel ... has a spade-shaped pop-off plastic cover ... gizmo is some kinda electrical connection. That's the limit of my knowledge about it. Does the Tune2Air plug into that connection, or do I need a separate cable to connect the Tune2Air to the gizmo?

2. If I install the Tune2Air by connecting it to the console gizmo, do I turn it on and off, or is it just plug-and-play?

Thanks for posting about the Tune2Air. I think it's just what I'm looking for.

Hi, I'm assuming that the gizmo in your console is probably the same that I have. It's an adapter made to connect to an iPhone 4 where you can play iTunes. The tune2air attaches to that, then you pair it up to your car's bluetooth assuming that your car has Bluetooth. Once you have connected it, look on your phone under bluetooth devices and look for tune2air and pair it to the car. You can pair both the tune2air and your MB bluetooth to the phone so that you have music and phone. It works flawlessly and everything displays on the Nav screen as if it were built into the car. When you go on Amazon, make sure that you choose the one that says it works on Mercedes/Audi. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions….Tom

Today I talked to my MB independent person. He said to fix my problem with the command system cutting in and out. The system needs to be flashed (not sure what that means). He said it's no big deal. But it has to go into the dealer for the repair.

UPDATE: Had the car at dealer today about the Command System cutting in and out. Luckily they were able to put a disk in and update the system. Charged one hr labor to do the job. He said if they had to replace the unit a rebuilt one starts at $2300 and that doesn't include the labor.
