A/C not working

About a week ago I noticed my A/C wasn't getting as cool as normal. Yesterday I turned it on and my AC light started flashing. And i'm not getting air. Could this be a refrigerant charge or a compressor issue?

If it is not working normally it is an issue. Doubtful that a simple recharge will do it. Most common AC problems are leaks. That leak could be from the compressor. Or it could be the compressor clutch. then again it could be as simple a schrader valve leaking. I had that on one car.

If you are not familiar with automotive AC best to take to someone who is.

If you are I would vacuum it down and make sure it holds vacuum. Then recharge with dye. Then inspect for leaks. Of course if the compressor is bad you will not be able to recharge. Its all a step by step process.

Another option is the control module. I too got the flashing light and no cold air. Took it to a local Euro shop. It was throwing a code for the control module (dash controls). They reset the system and it has been working ever since. Only cost me an hour of labor.
