I have been told you only have to drill out the front mount holes on the spindles to 14mm and they fit and the rears bolt straight on
2003 - 2005 e55 cl55 cls55 s55 AMG 8 pot front callipers will bolt on just modify disc backing covers or change them
looking for someone to confirm this before I go out and buy them
regards Steve

yes you are correct about the front. think we talked. i had to cut the dust shields also. the rears i have didn't bolt on...mounting points were different but maybe i had the wrong set. my set was off a 2005 sl55 so i will say the are correct. if you figure that part out let me know . good luck

2003-2006 Front calipers are the same, Except performance code: 030,
2003-2004 Rear calipers are the same,
2005-2008 Rear calipers will not fit, cause spindles are differs, including face lift,,
* i think Steve want to get F&R calipers from 2003 SL55..

i have been looking at online parts catalogs for referances to 2003 sl55 and sl500 for fitting AMG brakes
www.mbpartsexpress.com and www.genuineautoparts.com.au
part numbers for rear Knuckles are different
SL55 rear knuckle 230-350-51-08 left 230-350-52-08 right
SL500 rear knuckle 230-350-85-08 left 230-350-86-08 right
SL55 front knuckle 211-330-66-20 left 211-330-67-20 right
SL500 front knuckle 211-330-64-20 left 211-330-65-20 right
the differance must be the mounting points for the larger 8 / 4pot callipers
im trying to find out about what parts are required
dont want to buy the callipers from sl55 and the rears wont fit
ive been told you can just drill out the front knuckle calliper holes to 14mm
im just not sure on the rears
or is there a AMG rear calliper that just bolts on from a different model ?
cant seem to find info on euro/japan models

*In Front steering knuckle; The only difference between SL500 & SL55 are bolts thread,
[SL500 = M12] vs [SL55 = M14]
*In Rear knuckle/spindle; SL500 got a different spindle than SL55,
my initial conclusion that the Rear calipers which fit in your SL500 spindle should be from:-
(2006-2008 R230 SL55 facelift & SL63 or 2007 W219 CLS63),
that's why i asked if you can measure your calipers distance hole points..!

AnyTime Steve,
Unfortunately; MB didn't stamped their part # in the calipers, you will just find Brembo reference #s,
just when you measure your Exist caliper hole or even spindle hole pattern, it will help more to see from which Exact AMG rear calipers you should to go with..

If it 90mm, then you should go with:-
1) 2006-2007 W211 E63/E63S wagon
2) 2007-2008 W219 CLS63
3) 2006-2008 R230 SL55/SL63
*MB part #s:-
1) L #: "003 420 81 83"
2) R #: "003 420 82 83"
Attachment 310391

ZAYED,,
thanks for all your helpful posts! My measurements are 90mm as well and I have calipers from a 2006 CLS55.
Do you know if the fronts would fit with just a re-drill? It looks like it would but I want to make sure before I do so. Also for the rears, it looks like rear caliper bolt holes are about 1/2" closer together compared to the rear hub. Is there anyway I can get these to fit? Thanks in advanced!
