Close Door Warning

I have been getting the "Close Door" warning on my 2005 SL600 while the door is closed. I replaced the switch with a new one, having read that it is a common failure point. This, however, didn't resolve the issue. I put a meter on the one I pulled out and it tested fine as well.

Should I take it to the dealership or is there something else to examine? I've looked through the forum.

(The car is giving me fits recently with various small glitches. ABC, trunk soft close, and now the passenger door. )

The switch is where I would have started.
Not familiar with that switch...does it break the circuit when the door is closed, or complete the circuit?
Either way, I say start looking for a wiring issue - broken wire, or grounded wire. Work upstream until you find the cause. Hope it is not an ECU module somewhere.
Let us know the result of your problem.

When the door is open the circuit is complete. Door closed, breaks the circuit.

I'm hunting about for a wiring diagram to see where else to check its operation.

(Just found the crack in the trunk latch mechanism and epoxy'ed it.)

Based on the switch function...I would look for a broken wire or loose connections first.
