My roof had been working fine with no issues but when I tried to put it down yesterday it showed the picture of the roof opening on the dash but a message came up saying "please wait" "see operator's manual". The trunk divider is in place, the battery warning has not come on for the consumer battery, yet it won't open from either of the switches. I should mention that I checked the flaps that sometimes drop down in the trunk, they were both tight and making their connections.

Appreciate any suggestions....

Start here: Does the pump run? If not see if it is wet (kills the pump), or the fuse is blown.

Then search for 'Vario Roof Troubleshooting' and read through it. Could also be limit switches, or cables, or fluid, or...
