Best weight of Mobil1 for SL 500

I would like to know what you folks think the best weight of Mobil 1 is for my SL 500 as neither the manual nor the underhood sticker specifies a weight. I'm used to 10w-30 but heard 0w-40 may be best. I am in north Texas where very cold days are infrequent.

Thanks,
Moretech

I had completely forgotten...been so long since I looked for it. I use 0-40 out of habit now. MB does not list factory approved engine oil in the owners manual. I believe it is in the maintenance booklet but it is also online at mbusa.com under owners online and important vehicle specs. 0-40 seems to cover all the practical temperature ranges.

Mobil 1 0W-40 has the best specifications for any European engine I've known about that was produced within the past dozen years. That's all I use in the '03 SL55 and the '07 Audi A8.
