SL55 in "for sale"

Beautiful example of a landmark automobile in the classified section. Please take a look.

MOD, if possible move this to SL55.

Thanks

Out of summer hibernation

It’s finally cooled down to attend weekend car meets. I have been going to this particular evening meet every Saturday evening in Scottsdale AZ (in the winter) and so far my SL55 P30 has the been the only one in attendance. There have been a few R230 SL’s once in awhile. Enjoying the rarity and educating the mostly Super Car and American classic attendees about the virtues of an 18 year old concours condition underrated super car!

I have a special LED light highlighting the engine plaque

Evocative, atypical, mood-shots.

What does that machine do 0-60 in?

Love all the exposed drive belt plumbing in the front.

Thanks. I removed the cover for two reasons. One the showcase the billet aluminum pulleys and belt slip kit. Two, possibly keep engine temps low?😜.
I have always had a distaste for anything plastic covering engines.

With all the Renntech mods, software upgrades and custom Corsa exhaust I get consistent 0 - 60 in 3.6 seconds from my GPS device. The OEM limited slip that comes standard with P30 cars definitely helps. I think that is a one second improvement over stock. But it’s not about numbers for my mods. It’s assuring she is able to keep with newer cars and keeping her reliable.

I've have my 2006 P30 over here in Glendale, I was hoping to be able to get to the pavillions sometime soon but I still have a bit of work to do on the bumper before it'll be ready. Stop educating people! They are better as sleepers!

I'm admiring the well kept details on your car. I noticed you have the magnetic ABC filter installed as well. Mine is the only SL55 P30 in Agean Blue in the country getting lots of compliments where ever I drive and people are in disbelieve when I tell them it's an 07.

Enjoy and happy motoring!

There is a black '03 SL55 AMG for sale on Craigslist in the Seattle area, asking about $13,000. I have the same car and have about $22K into it but my suspension has just been fitted with all new accumulators, plus new engine mounts, trans mount, every air filter on the car is new, plus all new fluids, etc., even the spark plugs and wires are all new. I replaced those ignition parts myself and was told I should ask a dealer what their cost was for the job. I was surprised when they quoted $3,940.00! Made me very happy that I can do that job myself. Anyhow with 102K miles, this one looks pretty good for the price.

Hit me up sometime. Just moved here so have zero car friends. Unfortunately I got priced out of Chandler/Phoenix and bought a home in Maricopa (Cow poop town) I have a Star Diagnostic system and full complement of professional mechanic tools. I also have professional paint correction equipment. Let me know if you need any help. Hope to "attract" more Mercedes friends with this!

As far as the educating....you know how these old timers and their C4's, Camaro's, Chargers etc....they don't believe Mercedes cars can run with them in more luxurious comfort and supreme safety!

I'll hit you up sometime. cow poop town, lol! Still working on my bumper, did the coolant split kit and added extra intercooler. Just got a bit of buffing to do before I can reassemble. Unfortunately, professional paint correction won't fix my terrible paint job, lol. Its good enough for now. Once I get it all back together I'm going to get a dyno run for baseline then the new pulley and belt wrap kit will be installed completing, what I'm calling, my stage 1. then dyno run again. After that 2 more stages planned for the future...

Agree with you on the education.

That is a beautiful picture!

HI m5zealot,
what a gorgeous vehicle. Looks amazing. I have a 2006 model. One quick question. Please let me know what model Corsa muffler and exhaust you have. Is this the Corsa Extreme for a Mustang or Charger that was retrofitted to the SL55? If so, please let me know what years work best.
Thank you

Thank you. So you used the Corsa Extreme for a Mustang or Challenger?

You have a very nice ride. Very tasteful and classic. I am going to hold on to mine. Here are some pics, or the link to my pics.
