The ABC Suspension Tuning Button.

I've only had my new to me 2008 SL550 for 5 days now and haven't tried this button/option yet. Can the driver really tell a difference in the suspension/ handling of the car? Can someone describe the difference? I generally do not drive aggressively so I wonder if I would need this button on, if ever. Thanks...

The right side ABC button controls two settings:
1.)one light lit sport mode lowest normally available ride height and firmer overall feel.
2.)no lights lit normal mode softer setting and I notice some float from the rear end at highway speed(75+)
The button on the left side controls the other ride height settings
1 light lit raised for minor parking lot entrances and driveways
2 lights lit for more agressive parking entrances using chains and off-road excursions. I also use this for storage like right now when my car is covered and plugged in till the weather clears.
If you have no manual(not sure if you do)You can download one from mbusa.com click on the owners tab on the top right of the menu bar and you can get one that is specific for your car, I have it on my ipad.

I do have the manual but I've tried the buttons and the change must be so subtle I personally cannot tell any difference either in ride or height. Then again I am not a very aggressive driver so the subtle changes may be there and I am clueless! I was just looking for some real world feed back. Thanks...

The comfort/sport setting differences are subtle but definitely noticeable in the suspension response. Sport is firmer, it eliminates any high speed floating and the car corners flat.
The ride height difference between no lights and two lights is around 2" and the car raises fast. Sitting in the drivers seat I can see it rise. Outside the gap between the tire and fender is noticeably larger when raised.

Tom is right I have used ride height when negotiating construction zones and the car goes up quick, flagman asked if I had hydraulics like a low rider I said yes

If you sit in your driveway parked with the car running, and operate the ride height button, you can see the level raise and lower. Fun to show off with
