I have Pirelli 275/40/R19 tires on the rear and need to install 245/40/R19 on the front to balance ride height. I have Mercedes Alloy rims. Present tires are 230/40/19/96V and I don't like the ride, too much of a rake. I've not had any luck finding the answer and MB wants me to bring the car to them. I purchase my tires from Amazon and have a local tire shop install them.

No such tire size as 230, either 225 or 235. Your description is a little confusing.

Doing a cursory check at Tire Rack is a good starting point.

Thanks for replying. Sorry for the error. Should have read: 235/40/R19.


Got the correct info from Amazon and tires have been ordered; 245/40/R19.
Satisfies my height to match the height of the rears. I'm satisfied these will make the ride much better and safer for me...James

I am wondering if your 2003 actually has 275-35-19's on the rear? A 275-40 and your new 245-40 are not even close to the same height. A 275-35 would be a height match wth the front's you ordered. I have 285-30-19's with 255-35-19's and they ride fine and are "safe" since they are a stock R230 tire size.
