I tried searching . . .When I get in my 2011 SL550, foot on brake and push the button to start on the shift knob - nothing. Nor do the doors open any longer. Does this sound like a problem others have run into? The batteries in the smart key are new.

I assume the buttons on the SmartKey still lock and unlock the doors? If not, it could be bad or incorrectly installed batteries, or simply bad keys. Oh, and do you another key and does it work? If not, you really need to go ahead and buy a spare.

Yes the key still unlocks and locks the doors if I push the unlock button (I cannot just go up and open the locked door as I should be able to). I do not have a spare key and will order one soon.

I got my SL55 yesterday and the Keyless Go would not start the car. Keyfob would lock/unlock but proximity unlock did not work.

Changed the 2 x 2025 watch batteries in the keyfob, problem fixed. Cost $3 and took all of 3 minutes.
