Hi all,
I was curious if any of your R230's care with a clear bra from the factory ? Not necessarily on the nose, but on the rear bumper cover and on the painted portion of both rear view mirrors. I'm assuming some will say that the front bumper cover has been replaced, the information about my 03 SL 500 is that the car has never been in a wreck of any kind. Any answers or ideas ?

I have never seen a car come standard with clear bra. Any car, ever.
Generally clear bra is not put on the plastic nose, but on the front part of the hood. Either it was never applied, or it was repainted/replaced at some point.

I'm pretty sure that they did not come with any clear protective treatments. However, many dealers will apply precut clear pieces on new cars. My experience is that they yellow over time and look worse than any damage they may have prevented.

Thanks for your input, makes complete sense to me. Thankfully after 14 years the clear protectant is still clear and not yellow at all.
